15th August marks the historic occasion when the country finally attained freedom, from the vicious cycle the East India Company established in India, freedom from 'British Raj', from exploitation 74 years ago, our ancestors put an end to it all, with the arms of truth and non-violence.
"We are the inheritors of that legacy and we need to stand by those principles, as a progressive and responsible country, where values of democracy, harmony, and tolerance are deeply embedded, as promptly" said by Dr. Pratibha Tai Patil in her speech once.
This significant day takes us back to the events that made our country a free nation today, we should show gratitude to the leaders of our freedom movement, it is all thanks to them for freeing us from the shackles which they had. Also, to the millions of people of our country who struggled for freedom, the brave individuals of our army, as it is because of them we get to celebrate this occasion as "Independence day" and pay homage to their courage and will!
We are enjoying our freedom, rights and duties our constitution has granted us. Although our country is fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic and many of us may be missing the Independence day processions, the fun we had in schools, colleges, and the parades but the patriotism remains with us. I've realized, In recent years with all the happenings in the country, it feels as if something is amiss, this year, let's invest time on finding what it is. After all, we are the bearers of change in our nation.

Let's take a pledge to fulfill all duties towards the nation as we never forget our rights to enjoy and give sincere regards to every freedom fighter. On this occasion, Let us show our deepest gratitude to those who sacrificed their lifes to our freedom and our safety. In addition to that let us thank our farmers and COVID warriors as well who worked so restlessly to protect us and to motivate us to do something significant. That's all our freedom fighters wished for us, we just need to be consistent on it! Let's hope that we will fight through these tough times and for that taking precautions should be our absolute priority.
