An FIR has been registered after a judge from Uttar Pradesh alleged that he was attacked by members of the Unnao Bar Association who had barged into the courtroom presided by him on Thursday. On March 25, Additional District & Session Judge (Special Court, POCSO Act) at Unnao, Prahlad Tondon wrote a letter to the SHO, Unnao (Kotwali Police Station) alleging that he was abused, kicked and slapped within the premises of his courtroom by the members of the Unnao Bar Association. As per the judge's letter, on March 25 at around 11 am, a mob of 150-200 lawyers, along with the President and General Secretary of the Bar Association, entered courtroom number 11, where the Judge was sitting and started shouting slogans and started throwing the chair and table in the courtroom. The Judge alleged that he was slapped and assaulted by these advocates. before he was eventually rescued by the court staff. In view of the same the judge had requested the police to initiate an immediate inquiry into the alleged incident. Accordingly, an FIR has been registered by the Police Station.
