The National Board of Examination (NBE) has scheduled the examination for April 18 in utter disregard of the prevailing COVID circumstances and is pressurising graduate doctors across the country to sit for the same, the plea filed by Advocate Pallavi Pratap, Advocate on Record. Earlier the exam was to be conducted on January 5 2021 when the pandemic was not spreading as compared to current situation and to conduct the exam in this situation where the second wave of Corona is spreading like wildfire.
The plea also challenged the earlier notification which bars the doctors who have infected with COVID-19 and contends that it will be discriminatory and unreasonable as the doctors are the frontline warriors to handle the pandemic. All the doctors also have not received the second dose of the vaccine. States like UP, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand have made it mandatory for the doctors to do their duties despite NEET PG Exam.
The Court is likely to hear the petition tomorrow.
