The Jharkhand High Court on Saturday has granted bail to RJD president Lalu Yadav in the Dumka Treasury case. This has paved the way for his release from jail. Justice Paresh Kumar Singh has granted him bail in other three cases of fodder scam. The Court has directed Lalu Yadav not to leave the country without permission and change the address and mobile number during the bail time.
The Fodder scam involved the embezzlement of about Rs 9.4 billion and it spanned for many years. Fictitious livestock was created and fooder, medicine and animal husbandry equipment were procured for the same. Many administrative and elected official were involved in this scam. Lalu Yadav was convicted for the same in 2017 by the special CBI court.
