The Bombay High Court bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice GS Kulkarni ordered the CBI probe against the home minister Anil Deshmukh after the allegations were made by the former Mumbai Police Chief Param Bir Singh. He alleged that the Home Minister ordered to collect Rs. 100 crore per month from the people of Mumbai.
The plea has been filed by Advocate Jaishri Patil and the court observed that it would be unfair and not independent to order the probe by police where Anil Deshmukh is the home minister.
The Criminal PIL filed by ex-Mumbai Police Chief Param Bir Singh would be considered to put in the appropriate forum.
