The Maharashtra State Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant has announced that colleges in Maharashtra state will reopen from 15th February 2021 onwards. Mr Samant also confirmed that the reopening of colleges in the state would be carried out in complete compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.
Along with the minister also confirmed that keeping in mind the prevailing situation, the rule of minimum attendance of 75% will be waived off for this year. To ensure safe resumption of regular classes in colleges, both students as well teachers have been directed to wear face masks, and maintain social distancing inside the campuses. Moreover, colleges have been asked to provide sanitisers inside the campus to ensure that students follow safe hand hygiene while on campus.
Earlier, the minister had met with the state governor BD Koshyari following which it was clarified that a discussion will be conducted on February 1, 2021, with the Vice Chancellors of Non-agricultural universities across the country.
