Justice Hima Kohli was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court on Thursday. Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan administered the oath at a ceremony held at Raj bhawan, Hyderabad.
With Justice Kohli's appointment, Telangana High Court has got its first woman Chief Justice. She is the lone woman Chief Justice in the country.
Chief Justice Hima Kohli replaces Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chouhan, who has been transferred as the CJ of Uttarakhand High court.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Deputy CM Mahmood Ali, and state ministers attended the ceremony. The event was also attended by some judges.
Justice Hima Kohli got enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi. She was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Delhi on 29 May 2006 and took oath as a permanent judge on 29.08.2007.
