The Delhi HC single bench of Justice Pratibha Singh held that mask is like a Suraksha Kavach which protects the people who wear it and the people around him. Many petitions were filed in the court to challenge the order of the Delhi government to wear a mask while travelling alone in the car. The decision was reserved on Feb 17 on which the judgement is delivered today.

The court said "Scientists and international governments advise wearing of a mask. The challenge of the pandemic is enormous and the wearing of face masks is necessary whether a person is vaccinated or not."

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare presented in the court that health is a subject matter of states and they have not issued such guidelines. The Delhi government presented that the orders were issued last April and are still in application.
