Danny Fenster, an American journalist who was released after nearly six months in a military-run prison in Myanmar, was scheduled to arrive in the United States on Tuesday.
Fenster, who was convicted of 11 years of hard labour last week, was turned over to Bill Richardson, a former US diplomat who assisted in the release. Since the military deposed Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi's elected administration in February, more than 100 reporters, media practitioners, and publishers have been jailed.
